I am no longer concerned

Those fashion designers are just crazy; but aren't we all? Fashions fade, style is eternal. In a meat-eating world, wearing leather for shoes and 

clothes and even handbags, the discussion of fur is childish. I'd like to believe that the women who wear my clothes are not dressing for other people, that they're wearing what they like and what suits them. It's not a status thing. Design is a series of creative choices - it's a collaborative effort, an evolutionary process. You choose your fabrics depending upon what you want to say, then you work with mills to get those fabrics. Through the process, you realize what you want it to be.

I am no longer concerned with sensation and innovation, but with the perfection of my style. There are always protests, whether you do something good or bad. Even if you do something beneficial, people say you do it because it's advertising. The important thing is to take your time and not get stressed. A woman has the age she deserves. It's a philosophy of life. A practice. If you do this, something will change, what will change is that you will change, your life will change, and if you can change you, you can perhaps change the world.

I want to thank all the women who have worn my clothes, the famous and the unknown, who have been so faithful to me and given me so much joy. War taught me that not everything is glamorous. I believe in comfort. If you don't feel comfortable in your clothes, it's hard to think of anything else.
